Baseball and
Softball Evaluations - 2010
Spring Baseball Evaluations are scheduled for February 20th and 27th, see below for
details on times.
Softball Tryouts will be held via
Willow Creek LL.
Wolf Creek Little League offers Evaluations/Tryouts to aid in
player placement within the league. These tryouts are mandatory for all players
League Age 9 to 12! Juniors
(13-14) will be handled in conjunction with Murrayhill LL.
Players must attend 1 of the available tryouts to satisfactorily complete
Evaluations. See below for details
2010 Evaluations are scheduled:
Where: Aloha High School (ON the Baseball field, check in at
the Concession stand. Park in the lot and walk down the gravel road).
When: February 20th from 1:00-3:00 and February 27th from 9:00-11:00
EQUIPMENT: Please dress for weather, as the tryouts will be
indoor/outdoor this year. Bring glove, bat/helmet and non-cleat athletic
shoes.
February 20
1:00 pm - Registration desk opens, check in and warmups begin.
1:15 pm - 12 yr old groups start evaluations
1:30 pm - 11 yr old groups start evaluations
1:45 pm - 10 yr old groups start evaluations
2:00 pm - 9 yr old groups start evaluations
2:15 pm - 8 yrs and younger groups start evaluations
February 27
9:00 am - Registration desk opens, check in and warmups begin.
9:15 am - 12 yr old groups start evaluations
9:30 am - 11 yr old groups start evaluations
9:45 am - 10 yr old groups start evaluations
10:00 am - 9 yr old groups start evaluations
10:15 am - 8 yrs and younger groups start evaluations

Evaluations should take 25-30 minutes.

Registration details and signatures must be completed by a
parent or guardian onsite.

Attending both evaluations is discouraged, and typically
will not change the rated scores.

6-year olds that
do not try out will be placed in the Teeball division.

8 year olds that
do not try out will be placed in the A division

10 year olds
that do not try out will be placed in the AA division

Players between
league age 6-10 that wish to "play up" must be evaluated

If there is an
opening/opportunity to move up after the season starts, a player must have
attended evaluations to be eligible to move up
Majors
-
Players who do not attend
evaluations will be ineligible for Major Division for the entire season.

Any
10-year-old players interested in trying out for Majors must attend one of
the evaluations scheduled and it is strongly suggested that they attend both
evaluations, if possible.

Returning
Major Division players must register but do not need to be evaluated.
They are encouraged to come to help provide a baseline for comparison.
The Evaluation
Process
- Players must arrive on time. 15 Minute Early Arrival or pre-registration is
encouraged to smooth the process.
- During evaluations, players will be rated on catching, throwing,
running, and hitting skills.
- Players should bring to the evaluations: tennis shoes (for indoor
evaluations), baseball glove and a batting helmet/bat.
- All players are encouraged to wear protective cups while playing
baseball, and
cups are REQUIRED for any player being evaluated for catcher.
